BayernsBerge.de was launched in late 2008 parallel to the release of the hiking guide of the same title. The authors, Georg Hohenester and Stefan Winter (seen in the accompanying photograph) are seasoned alpine veterans and fans of long lost traditions. If you happen to be in the Bavarian Alps and see a couple of hardcore skiers, hikers, climbers dressed in original 30′s clothing and using original 30′s equipment… you’ve more than likely bumped into the “Heimat” Duo and haven’t been zapped back 80 years in a time machine.

The website is used to display their adventures, promote their books and the Bavarian Alps.
